Idea Test Gym fits out photographic spaces for companies that photograph their own products: wine estates, food producers, small manufacturers, online retailers. These studios are not glamorous and they are used constantly, often by someone whose main job is something else. That changes the design. Repeatability matters more than flexibility: marked positions, fixed lighting, a capture station that opens on the right settings. The aim is that the person shooting on Thursday afternoon gets the same result as the person who shot on Monday.
An in-house studio is judged on consistency between shoots, not on the best single image it has produced.
